History of both passenger and freight operations on the Montgomery to Streator, Illinois branch that served the largest silica sand mines in the world and some of the largest glass manufacturers in the United States. Streator was known as the bottle capitol of the country. The branch was a typical Midwestern agricultural branch with a heavy haul focus.
