40th Anniversary

Trainfest is Celebrating – 40 Years – and Going Strong

Thank you to all who helped make Trainfest 2011 a great success. Here is an overview of the celebrations for our 40th anniversary.

Experience the model train show 40 years in the making. Trainfest 2011 is not one to miss. America’s Largest Operating Model Railroad Show promises to be better than ever, and a great time for model train hobbyists, moms, dads, and kids of all skill levels and all ages.

It began as a vision for members of the WISE Division back in 1971. Over time, the dedication of many volunteers has nurtured Trainfest to become an annual destination for many. It has surely resulted in something spectacular for all of us to enjoy. The enthusiasm shown by our exhibitors and guests has really been the fuel to keep this little train show progressing and growing over the years, and it shows no signs of slowing. Leadership, teamwork, and lots of laughs along the way are the keys to our success and the reasons to be optimistic about our future.

This year’s event will feature 60 plus railroads from tiny Z scale to garden-sized G scale. Visit our Model Railroading 101 page to learn about the different model train scales and more of what you’ll see at the show. Trainfest will also host 100 manufacturers and hobby dealers, 10 historical societies, and thousands of railroad hobbyists and families.

Special Events at the 40th Anniversary of Trainfest

Show organizers wanted to make this an event to remember so they added some fun ways to celebrate all things model trains. Bring the kids and get their faces painted and join the Radio Disney Road Crew on Sunday for activities, prizes and more. Kids can take a ride on the Circus Train (additional fee). And the list of activities keeps growing so check back. Visit Trainfest.com regularly for up-to-the-minute information on the latest additions to the Trainfest experience.

Trainfest admission tickets for Saturday and Sunday, along with the Friday Product Showcase and 2-day tickets for $18, are available at participating local hobby shops. Visit our coupons page for adult ticket discounts and kids FREE admission. All military personnel with military ID and Scouts in uniform with an adult will receive free admission at the door.
